worst day serving ever!
I was put in the 'split' section which is split in to two rooms that you have to walk at least 100 feet to get to between your tables. and the section doesn't get cut. It's hard to monitor all of your tables and get them things they need when you have to run all over the place to check up on them.
The managers are getting more and more tyrant-like. They'll send you home, or shopping, if you don't wear black socks. wtf. nobody can see our fucking socks. there's so many rules and regulations that our guests frankly wouldn't give two shits about since it has nothing to do with us feasibly serving them their food. I almost got found out with my white socks...but I was sat pretty quickly once I was being checked in and had to tend to my table right away so the manager didn't check me for socks.
and I'm just so tired of stupid people. I hate when you walk up to the table and say "hi how are you!" and nobody says a damn word back to you. its like...great! I'm so glad you chose to dine out today since you're in such a lovely mood! pretty much every table I had ordered soup salad and breadsticks, which is great for them but shit for us. We have to do so much extra work, and refill every damn thing, for a measly $5 check. which means no tip. would it kill you to tip on service sometimes rather than check total if it only comes out to like $10??? I did NOT just bust my ass for you for a measly $2 tip. I had greeted a table and came back two minutes later to puzzled faces and them pointing at me asking "are you our waitress? I couldn't remember"....wow, am I that forgettable? I don't know but it just rubbed me the wrong way. And then when you announce that what you said was just rude, of course it's not going to make me like you any better.
then since the place was dead, I watched room after room get cut while I had to stay on because of the room I was in. And I also saw servers taking other server's sections because they wanted to stay on and make money. but nobody wants the split section!!! anyway..then I got sat with a party of 9 indians. I'm not racist or anything, but DAMN! they always come in...in gaggles of ten people or more, and always act like they've been living on the street with the way they order. water no ice! minestrone soup, but just one so we can split it ten ways! split every entree in half! these mozzarella sticks aren't cooked! (which they were...aholes...). The adult couple ordered a split entree and got a soup which comes with it. I asked the man if he wanted to add on a soup and they specifically said "no because we only got one entree".....and then he preceeds to eat everyone else's soup and salad. fuck that...i'm charging you for a salad!
::end rant::
sorry...had to vent somewhere!!

Italian restaraunt?
And it seems your boss sounds like the guy from Office Space about the "Flair", or socks in your case. Complete BS!
