Sorry for slacking on the blogging lately but I have been shooting my upcoming sets with the SA SG's @broque @umlilo and @lalou and have been so excited I have been solidly editing and making sure they are perfect for submission!
But, better late than never, here is our Tattoo Expo Adventuring with @umlilo a couple weekends ago, starting out with a day trip to the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria South Africa. Not only did we have an awesome hike around the beautiful gardens there (see previous blog post for our mini photo sesh>>> here) but we enjoyed the 2014 Cool Inc Tattoo Expo!
Upon arrival we were drawn into the most awesome steampunk stall, called Stoompomp, yeah, we have a small steampunk culture here in SA :) some very rad goodies were on display!!
Some other cool things we spotted was The Mighty Mantis airbrushing his art on some live models which was pretty rad and we spoke to the guys from M&R Custom Guitar Builders, Umlilo couldn't resist getting up close and personal with some of their beauties on display.......
We also met up with the lovely people from Voodoo Ink tattoos whose artist, Danny, won 1st place in the large colour tattoo of the expo
Our other absolute faves were Electric Lounge Tattoo Parlour , (thanks for chatting with us Adel!!) they were doing double inkage on one lucky guys calves......ouchies!! Although fun to watch when you're not the one getting two tats at the same time..... has anyone experienced this?? it must hurt like a bitch!!!!
While walking around the expo we spotted some of our friends, Alt Model Marleen rocking some No Reason Merch, which she models for and her boyfriend Sven who plays for local metal band Octainium <<< check them out!!
Also we were crushing on the guys from Rising Dragon Tattoos business cards, condoms on the cards..... hmm what does it mean, ink while having safe sex?? haha, was a laugh, or maybe we dont get out much......... they did however prove they had some serious skills winning best colour portrait of the expo with this awesome piece......
Umlilo loves kids and when she saw this little tattoo fan walking around the expo, we had to stop and get a photo!!! what a cutey!!! she was plastered in fake tats :)
and some other cool peeps ....we met this gorgeous pinup doll from Pinn'd Up Clothing....
Highlight was definately seeing my bff Angelique finally getting her Oh Sleeper footsie tattoos by the talented Ting Thorne of Ting's Tattoo Studio , who is a babe aswell ;)
Anyway that was our journey through some ink culture in South Africa :) We met some great peeps and had a great day with friends!!
