Went out last night, drank more Coke than beer and as a consequence am still feeling a little wired.
Going out with my very good looking German flat-mate has become an interesting social observation. The most unattractive, creepy men approach her all the time, in pubs, on the street... None of them even bother to be polite to anyone who is with her. Last night she and I were having our last drink before leaving the Townie when two very drunk losers practically elbowed me out of the way to slobber her with pathetic babble, "are you a model?", "you are the most beautiful girl of the night"... One of them actually trod on my foot and tipped his drink on me, didn't apologise, and belched constantly. What on earth are these guys thinking? Do they actually think she might go home with them? Do they also think that she wont notice that they are so blatantly rude to her friends?
I just don't understand. I know I have terrible self esteem so my own experience isn't a great example, but I would never approach a great looking boy, I just don't have the confidence. And honestly would never presume that he would even be interested in being seen talking to me. Where do these men, who are in all fairness ugly, overweight, badly dressed, have terrible hair and appear to be quite stupid get such massive amounts of confidence from? Is there a secret confidence vending machine in men's bathrooms that I don't know about?
