Growing up, we didnt celebrate christmas zith oodles of gifts or even lots of decoration. Each one of the kids would receive their one gift on new years eve, and then we would go with my mom to the nursing home here in town and deliver little baskets that we would hand pick safe items for; things like hair rollers, combs, lotions, house slippers. yanno practical things that would get used and still make them feel the holiday ha-rah. since ive gotten older, i decorate moderately, and i do buy gifts (not a lot because i have an internal conflict with the consumer bull crap) usually make homemade ones all nicely painted and ready for the family.i dont get to see them much so i put a lot of effort into it. Another thing i find myself doing is almost philanthropist type things more in the winter. little things, helping you unload groceries, putting your cart back for you on a freezing day, helping you out in anyway i can. because hey, lets put a smile on. Super excited for the food though!
