Its my job. I took it upon myself to make a statement with my life, whether people respond to it or not. Growing up I wish I had someone to express that its okay to have flat nipples, to be a few pounds under or over weight, that crooked teeth are just as great because you can do the things you need to, or birth defects don't make you less of a person. It seems as though all these stigmas and more are growing, overwhelming not just me (a grown woman of 23), but to children.. And its hard to convince them otherwise when there's so many technological advances everyday. Its hard enough to say the t.v. is wrong, but how can we compete with fb, instagram, and flawless bratz dolls in kids meals? Even when I feel bad about myself, I try to trick others along with myself that its ohkay. Its okay to be insecure and its ohkay to secure as well, that beauty is on the inside more than the out. We are stepping stones!! People especially kids in junior high and high school look up to us, they want to be like us. And even if many compare us to perfection. I feel as though our words are more powerful than a selfie. Whatever you do, do it with conviction. Say its okay not to fit in, and its okay yo feel your emotions. If I ever go pink I'm going to use it to blow some awareness into kids who suffer with these kinds of social stigma, and I'm not going to stop until I can help be apart of a cure for them, their perspective. Now is the time to act, they have waited too long. We can't make it stop, but we can make a difference. I was obsessed with s.g. since I was 14 (it made me feel better)and here I am making a blog post on the website. I want to use every tool I have in my life to be part of this movement. And if you haven't joined it yet (which I'm sure the majority of you have), get on up (like James Brown). #iwanttosavethechildren #iwanttocryforthem We owe it to ourselfs..
