My grandfather's funeral was yesterday. It was heartbreaking not only because I have lost someone so important to me, but because the vast majority of my family acted in a horribly shameful manner. They spent a huge amount of time dividing up property and arguing over my grandparents' checkbook even though my grandmother is still alive! I have never been so ashamed of them all. When I arrived at the funeral home with my mom and brother (after a four hour drive to Northern MN), my grandma was sitting in front of the coffin in her wheelchair TOTALLY alone. My aunt walked up to me and said she had done more than she should have by bringing her there in the first place and that she was washing her hands of my grandmother and my mom and I would have to take care of her. She said this RIGHT IN FRONT of my grandma, who I might add is recovering from the stroke she had a week and a half ago. All in all, I am glad it's over and I can start to accept things. I want to thank everyone who offered support after my last blog. It really means a lot to me. I love you all.
