I cannot properly say what I wish to...
I learned yesterday that a good friend has died.
R.I.P. Samuel Zawada. 05/10/83 - 06/29/06.
Since our sophmore year of high school, Sam was an indispensable friend. He could effortlessly bring a smile to your face just by the way he entered the room; his gait confidently comic, and a perpetually positive outlook to boot. The time spent with him throughout the years, i will never forget. The days goofing off during rehearsals for the school musicals, or our classes' productions are unforgettable; as is the 'Hallway of Satan', a particular creepy hallway in the auditorium, which we had some times scaring underclass castmates. The times continued through graduation, and through the following years...
Until a few years ago, our lives took us in different directions...and that makes the loss so hard: I have not seen him in a while, and now that won't be happening. I wish i could have been a better friend, and not let our contact dwindle like it had...but I don't believe Sam would want that to bother me so. He was just that kind of guy; he wouldn't let that overshadow our friendship.
I am sad for the loss, but am even happier for him: the life he lived, the frendships and friends blessed by him, and the happiness he found in his bride-to-be, Valerie; who was taken from this life along with Sam.
I leave off mourning the tragic loss of two of the souls who most deserved the lives they lived; but also celebrating, and learning from, those very lives.
I love you Sam...
The article i learned of this from, if anyone cares to know the story....
