I finally saw Sweeney Todd the other night and loved it. Every single musical I've ever seen, within the first 15 minutes or so, I inwardly groan and feel almost embarrassed at the inherent cheesiness that seems inescapable. But then, if it's a good one, I get over that. Sweeney Todd was a good one, and with all the blood and cannibalism , the fact that there was singing going on during the throat-slitting and human-cooking made it wonderfully funny and twisted.
On a side note, Helena Bonham Carter is fucking beautiful and Tim Burton is one goofy-looking (and very lucky) guy.
The above about musicals being inherently cheesy does not apply to Fame. That movie rules in every possible way.
Also, the song "Kiss Me Deadly" by Lita Ford rules in every possible way as well.
The above two statements are absolutely, 100% sincere, so please don't make fun of me. I don't care what you think...
