Art of Murder, a stage play by Joe Dipietro, premieres at Gateway Theatre in Richmond, BC on February 6th.
The play is about two artists and an art dealer who plan murderous schemes. The play is a co-production with Vertigo Theatre of Calgary, and premieres here on March 7th.
The director saw my show at the Auburn in '07, and asked me to make paintings for this play. I finished the paintings a week ago and now they are on the set in Richmond. The paintings represent the work of one of the painters and are integral to the plot of the play. I'm really excited to see them on stage and to see the play come to life.
I'll be in Richmond for the premiere, and then a long weekend in Vancouver. I'll be bringing extra paintings to sell and show as I begin to establish a market in Vancouver. It is my goal to start traveling there every six to eight weeks, to find new clients and enjoy a change from Calgary.
I hope to see all the special Vancouver people while I'm there. Lunch, anyone?
