This could be bad. I don't know if I can stop looking at naked girls. I'm not complaining, mind you, but to start 2005 by looking through endless galleries of hot young girls with piercings, elaborate tatoos and haircuts I want might be a little... perverse if I keep it up all year. Then again, I'm still not complaining.
Who am I and what am I doing here? I'm a comic book artist, a freelance illustrator, and an animation student. I describe myself according to my art abilities. I'm also a hopeless net whore. I keep a website (jamaicad.com)that I use as a gallery for my artwork and comic pages, but i also have a lot of online accounts. i have a deviantart account where i try to regularly post artwork (to an enthusiastic audience of 15-year-olds), a flickr page where i post photos, and various other places...
So why am I here? Yet /another/ blog to update, and how many galleries can a person have? Quite simply I came for the girls. AND! the community. The comics I create are a sort of dark/mature/queer/goth/dandy/fantasy genre that don't click with a majority of comic readers. If one of my characters is in tights and a cape, you can be sure it's not to fight crime. I might be flattering myself, but I think someof my work may appeal to the sort of person that, say, enjoys visiting a place called Suicide Girls. And so I came.
Currently I'm working on a project that most likely will fit right in here, a story about two outcast girls in high school who fall in love and get in fights with the popular kids and go on fantasy adventures together. I'll post some art from it in a few days.
Presently you can read my first comic, Echoes in the Ashes, for free. It's set in a decaying city and has a daring girl who gets tainted by the citizens of the city, gangs and vampires and monsters and thieves and other outcasts. I started it when I was sixteen and finally started sharing the pages last year. It's not for the weak of heart ("thanks for the warning, it was needed" was the only response i got on a comic messageboard) but I think you can handle it if you're here.
That's all for now... I'm off to get my head buzzed.
