So I go to the local convenience store to check if I had any cash left hoping to score me some coffee, and I go up to the counter to have him scan a bottle of Starbucks coffee, he tells me my total and I'm like really? There's not suppose to be tax on coffee! (not supposed to be tax on teas either but New Jersey taxes tea!) Then we got into a conversation about taxable items. He learned what is and isn't suppose to be taxed. Yeah I taught him all about sales tax. I told him the the grocery store doesn't charge tax on Starbucks. I also should have told him 7-Eleven doesn't do it either but I didn't think of it. Oh well. I guess I didn't need that second pastry anyway.
Why don't they teach taxes in school? It is a very important. . . Never mind I know why now. Many more people would leave the state right after graduation. lol
