Over the years I've learned a significant amount of things about weight loss. First off it's not easy. It takes years to gain the weight so it's not going to take days to lose it. Them gigs that say, ''Lose 7 pounds in 7 days or your money back!'' may or may not be true. But there's always a catch. Like how quickly you gain that back. I once lost 9 pounds in 2 hours. Yeah, I shit you not. I lost that. But I gained it back next day. It was water weight. Also taking a shower can shed up to 5 pounds. All the oil on your skin can weigh up to that. These aren't the tips.
Here are the tips:
Throw out your scale! Scales only disappoint you. a scale is like the stock market. There will be ups and downs. If you really need to weigh yourself, go get a yearly check-up at your doctor's office.
Head coach for the San Diego Chargers (at the time) said, ''Go to bed hungry. You'll wake up lighter.'' Unknown if true.
Get 8+ hours sleep! You burn calories when sleeping. If you get a full night's rest, that's 8 hours you're not eating or drinking.
Eat a big breakfast! When you wake up your body needs energy to get through the day. Problem with many people is they skip or skimp on breakfast. It really is the most important meal of the day. Sure you may not be hungry when you wake up but if you don't eat now while you're active you'll eat a lot during dinner sit around and get fat!
Speaking of dinner, if you eat a full breakfast, when dinner time rolls around you'll be less hungry.
Eat throughout the day too. Nuts are a great snack! fiber to keep you fuller longer Plus they have other good nutrients.
Drink water! Omit soda (or pop if you're in New York haha). Soda of any kind is bad for you. Diet soda is even worse then regular.
Limit yourself just a little bit. It'll make an impact on your life. Say you eat fast food daily. Omit one day of fast food per a week to home cooked.
Also eating 6 small meals a day is better then 2 or 3 big meals. By small I mean fucking small. Like a couple normal (not heaping) spoonfuls of rice with crumpled sausage or other meat on top. and a small serving of veggies. These meal should take about a minute to eat. I learned some Asian country does this. I think it was China but don't quote me. By the way the food you get at their restaurants is way too much. They actually eat much smaller portions.
Another trick I've learned just recently is eat like a Muslim. Okay maybe don't use your hands. But when was the last time you saw a fat Muslim? Yeah, something to think about. I've had Muslim food. I gotta tell you, they cook great mother fucking food! Also maybe observe Ramadan. For diet purposes that is. What is it? for about one month a year, they don't drink or eat anything (I mean not even water) from sunrise to sunset.
Those were some of the best tips I can give you when it comes to the eating part of weight loss. Now the other big part of weight loss is exercise. All those tips are useful. But if you do only that, it'll be years before you see a significant change.
Best 4 tips I have for for exercise are:
My personal favorite: sex-er-cise. Sex. Passionate lovemaking. This includes foreplay. Try that book out, that one famous book I can never remember the name of. But ask any woman the name. They all seem to know it. lol.
Biking. I mean a real bike. Get a mountain bike and hit some trails for an hour. Get some sun, fresh air, and enjoy the views. I'm not saying pedal 100 miles an hour. But I am saying don't take a leisure stroll through the park. Biking is low impact and high calorie burning exercise.
Swimming is another super great calorie burning exercise and is my second favorite. This is super low impact and super high calorie burner. I don't mean swim laps. That's exhausting. I mean do flips and twists (with feet not touching anything but water) and turns and spins. Have a swim party and do fun and games. Bring a pool noodle and swim with it. Make splashes. Dive down and hold your breath for as long as you can. Basically have loads of fun swimming. If you make it a chore, you won't want to do it.
SPORTS! Go out a join a local softball (or baseball) team. Or even street hockey team. Or basically any sport. Even golf or bowling. Also try a gun club or snowmobile/four wheeler club. Or go out and take a class like archery. You'll make friends and have fun.
The goal is to be active and have fun doing it. If you make it a chore like "I'm going to walk 30 minutes a day." you'll skip one after a few days then two and then you'll just give up.
Another tip that has helped me not be fatter then I am now is for the past 12 or so years, is I've been living on 3rd floor (2nd floor for those of you not in America) apartments. When I first moved into a 3rd floor apartment, it was hell for like a month or so. Plus them days of moving in. Oh boy I was exhausted. When I have new visitors, some are like, ''Wow that's a lot of stairs.'' I just smile and say, "Eh, not really.''
One last tip before I go, maybe get a job where you move around a lot. A mailman uses a lot of energy each day. HAHA! Plus the gift cards he of she gets around Christmas time numbers in the hundreds. Plus they get a great retirement. Hint: now you can give all your friends and family ''gifts'' for Christmas! Even that creepy dude you cannot seem to avoid can get a gift! haha! You'll also get plenty of exercise running from dogs! lol.
There are many more tips and tricks I have to losing weight but these are some of the best. Do you have one? Maybe leave it in the comment section below. Maybe we can make this spread and maybe it'll help someone, somewhere, someday with their weight loss.
