What happened to us?
What happened to me?
How did we end up where we are today?
There used to be a time where I was excited to see you,
the thought of putting my arms around you made my heart flutter.
Where did that feeling go?
I used to feel special,
I used to think I could conquer mountains just because you loved me.
I can no longer conquer mountains,
I cannot even conquer the mole hills
that life wants to throw my way.
Why is that?
I know that life has a way of getting in the way,
but why can't it also have a way
of bringing us together?
You used to look at me in a way that made me smile,
now when you look at me,
I feel like you are hiding something.
Why?
I want to make you happy
I want you to want to make me happy
How do we do that?
Where do we begin?

But I do not want it to be buried deep,
I want it to be all encompassing

I want to be the one you think about
