This weekend was a lot of fun, most fun in a while.
Friday the date and I ended up going boating with a couple who are some of my best friends. I had a great time, I'm pretty sure she did too. My date did have a ladies room conversation with my friend to the effect of "Jake's a great guy, but I'm not looking for a relationship right now...just broke up with fiance...still selling our house...busy...etc."
My date and I had already had this conversation before, so that's cool. But why be so adament about it? That to me says that she's either struggling with the idea herself, or that she's so far on the I don't want him to get the wrong impression branch that she wants to make it glaringly clear. No biggie to me either way, she's fun and we have a good time together. I'm not looking for a relationship either right now.
Which would be evident by my spending the rest of Friday with another friend who has been a surprise last minute entry into my dating circle lately. She's younger, 23, but sharp as a tack. I didn't get that impression after my first date with her. But she came out on Friday with some friends and I, and she's not a big drinker, so we got to have some good conversation. Well, she called me again Saturday to hang out, which we did. She's also recently out of an engagement, but fortunately we're not even talking relationship or lack of interest in one. We're just hanging out having a good time. One thing with this one I've yet to encouter in my 27-28 years, she's taller than me. I'm no biggie at 5'9", and she's probably 5'10", but factor heels and she's over 6'. Noticably taller than me. Which my experience with tall girls is that they don't want to feel like a spectacle more than they already do and prefer a man as tall if not taller. I may be off base, but we'll see.
Let's see, what else. Oh, found 2 new trails on Sunday for the DRZ. I love having a dual sport, because we can get to trails by road and just duck off into the woods when we see something interested. The terrain was great on the new trails too, not too much sugar sand, not too much mud.
Great little holiday weekend. Next event, birthday on the 9th!
