hi. i have a question.
I am writing a little something aimed towards high school seniors and college undergraduates about Personal and Social Issues in American Children's and Young Adult Literature.
For you children's lit people, and everyone else, is there something you feel is very important that needs to be said, for example a text that you feel is mandatory in a discussion of, say, incest or alcoholism or another issue? Particularly something that goes beyond a teaching or psychological tool and has real literary merit (however one defines that).
More specifically, what kind of American comic books and graphic novels deal with these issues, but AIMED to children, not adults? I have included Maus of course.
