There is a site called holgamods.com They make some really practical and subtle modifications to Holgas and sell them for roughly the same price as an out-of-box model.

Additionally, I would suggest shooting with slide film (kodak e100g or better yet EPP) and then have it cross-processed (in C41 chemicals).
