Well, I bought my plane ticket home. My brother is graduating from high school and I want to be there. Aren't I just the greatest oldest brother ever? I also put in my leave form so that I have permission to go home. That is important.
On the school front, I had my midterm in my logic class. I didn't do as well as I had hoped, but I know I passed. I like that class.
I got one of the CDs I ordered in the mail today. The Real McKenzies "Oot and Aboot" I like that album, but it is too short. I bought it for the song "Droppin' like flies."
I also ordered my cold air intake for my car. I should get it in about 4 days. Then I can put it in my car and be cool like all those car racer people! YAY!
And the lyrics of the day:
THE REAL MCKENZIES
"Droppin' Like Flies"
i recall back in '79 i was just a wee kid livin' in a dive
didn't drink, didn't dance, didn't ever smoke hash
but it changed when i heard the clash
and you know i needed more so i got
up and out to the record store
i bought all the records i could afford
an' i played em all on my stereo
[Chorus:]
this is a song saluting punkrockers rise
and what they did to change the times
but with such a lifestyle they're burnin'
on both sides
now they're droppin' like flies
all those old punk rock guys
i became a fan & i remain that way
and to this day, i'm still blown away
those bands just cut me to the bone
like the damned, the pistols & the ramones
now we just wanna say
they made us what we are today
so now every time we play
we remember those of yesterday
[Repeat Chorus]
well i became a fan & i remain that way
and to this day, i'm still blown away
and then theres me i'm not dead yet
but never ever know i could be next
[Repeat Chorus]
And there you have it, loyal listeners, my radio show for today has come to it's end. I will see you sometime in the near future for your next installment of JAGman25's daily radio hour.
