As if to totally crap over that long, rambling post I wrote a few weeks back - which, when I read again, makes me realise I may have been a tiny bit under the influence of alcohol - I've just noticed something. I'm starting back at uni tomorrow, and......well I wouldn't say I'm looking forward to it, but there certainly isn't the dread and frustration there has been at this time last year or last summer, or even a few weeks ago. And I can't put my finger on why that might be. It's not as if I've had some big epiphany or revelation or the like, other than a nagging thought that I do, in fact, not want to end up as a photographer - and I haven't been drinking - so I'm now confused.
I guess I should just be happy that it's a nice thing to be confused about and leave it at that!
In other news.....
Just had an interesting week in Scarborough with the missus. Photos coming soon (how often do I say that?!). Why interesting? Well the east coast isn't exactly all that toasty warm at this time of year. In fact it's bloody freezing. Couple that with her wanting to walk along the beach - and then turn round and walk into the wind and you get cold toes and sand in your mouth. Good times. Seriously though, it was a good laugh, and it was nice to spend some time together away from...well, everything really.
Also, I gained six pounds (good thing, I'm a skinny bastard) by supporting the local Pizza Hut and the biggest chippy in Europe all week.
--------------------
Seeing Dan having moderate success with Vib Gyor makes me realise how much I miss being in a band, or orchestra, or whatever - just playing and performing. Wish I had the balls to just drop everything and try and make a go at it.
--------------------
On a (possibly) related note, I'm more in debt than I thought I was. Quite a bit more in fact. Oops.
--------------------
Is it strange that out of the six people who went to see Dragonforce in December, four of us went to see Swan Lake last night?
(And who's genius idea was it to try and pull that off with a tiny, 30-piece orchestra?!)
--------------------
Just been reading a highly entertaining thread about 24 on TV.com, which complains that the show may have just jumped the shark because Jack has a brother. Which reminds me a little of one of my brother's mates who though Lord of the Rings was unrealistic because the elves had pointy ears.
--------------------
For my major photography assignment this semester, I'm going to do one of two things, both music-related: either take lines from songs and then try and create something that will 'illustrate' the line, or do the same with quotes about[/] music. Any suggestion for lines/quotes?
--------------------
Right, that's me done. I'm off to shoot stuff on Gears Of War.
