Hot damn it's been a busy couple of weeks! I really fucking love this place, I just wish I didn't have to leave in four days. Off to Vancouver for a week on the 13th (13 hour bus ride, can't wait), with a day in Seattle in the middle (Seahawks-Cardinals at Qwest Field, seriously can't wait), then it's back to Blighty for second year of uni. Bah.
Been doing pretty much the same thing every single day while I've been here. A typical day goes a little something like this:
10:30 - Get up, shower, cigarette and breakfast
12:00 - Internet cafe for an hour. Cos I'm a geek.
13:00 - Hike up a mountain.
15:00 - Come back down again. Obviously.
18:00 - Food!
19:00 - Drink, drink and drink some more.
04:00 - Crawl into bed, possibly after hugging the toilet bowl for half an hour first.
Good times. It helps that everyone who works at the hostel I'm at is a fucking pisshead. And that nearly everyone who lives here is so laid back. Gonna be a shock to the system going back to fucking manic-stress-ville. But never mind. Got ten days before that happens.
Another thing I love about coming to Canada is that I usually discover a new band or two while I'm out here, or rediscover one I discovered the last time. I'm currently loving the 'new' Our Lady Peace album, Breaking Benjamin, Rise Against (who I had never listened to before I left the UK - who knows why) and of course, the brand spanking new Iron Maiden album, which is unbelievably fucking fantastic. Seriously.
Also on the topic of music, the new Trivium stuff..... doesn't sound that shit. Check out the three songs on their MySpace page. Sounds a little like Metallica in their prime, crossed with some of the more modern typical Trivium-esque tracks. I'm cautiously optimistic for their new album.
On a bit of a downer, I've discovered this past few weeks that my girlfriend can actually annoy the crap out of me. Which sucks.
Oh yeah. I have, of course, taken shitloads of pictures in Banff and around the Rockies - I'm up to 12 GB already. Once I've filtered out the crap, I'll throw some of them on Flickr. God knows how long that'll take.
