The most important thing to happen lately I met an assist dog that I am being set up with. If you would like a better understanding of what an assist dog is go toaware dogs website.
Teesha is going to be my assist dog. I met her on Thursday, at the moment she's staying with Che' (I'll talk about him soon) Che' is training her to be a working assistant dog. Before this Teesha was raised by a bogan family but they are the nicest people ever .
Teesha is probably 18 months old a rottie cross.. That smiley is there coz she looks nothing like a rottie. She's about knee height to me (I'm 5'8") White w/ a few brown patches. She looks like a real toughie but she's a total sweetie, so basically I'm in love with this dog and I can't wait to start taking care of her. But along all changes in my, along comes my anxiety.
Because I qualify as a disabled person I have a legal right to have an assist dog with me where-ever I go. That's the bottom line. However I'm still anxious about how she'll feel towards me, how work will feel towards her being there, how the patrons will feel towards her being there (not that I care).
Apologies for not having photos of her but as soon as she's That's all I'll post.
I promised to tal;k about Che'
Che' is the founder and General Manager of AWARE dogs and well I won't say he's an asshole coz he's not but the time I spent with him was not a happy one, he got in to the habit of telling me hhow frustrating it is for other people when I don't hear them. I have a profound hearing impairment I told him when I first met him but then claims he never knew. He said at a meeting that he'd had mental issues. So I'll leave it at that.
Talksoon eh!
