news: ponies are not actually baby horses.
WHAT KIND OF FUCKERY IS THAT?
in other news, grindhouse on tuesday, callahan on friday, and boundless fun in shangri-van. more time to read, oh sweet jesus, yes, god, yes. i'm thinking of delving into a little ray chandler, and some gabriel garcia marquez to see what that's all about. some irvine welsh. some nicanor parra. maybe i'll finally start on frankenstein too, y'know, for cul-chur 'n' shit. i'm seriously eying the new eggers book, but seeing as i was reduced to tears upon finishing you shall know our velocity, i'm thinking break, yes, yes, break is good.
speaking of literature, i've finally cracked a douglas coupland and am already severely underwhelmed. maybe it's just a bad book choice - my boycreature lent me generation x which, so far, contains lines like "all you're doing with your life is collecting objects, and nothing else" and "the love of meat prevents any real change" which, hey, grew up on those supposedly subversive catch phrases, really sick of them. i'm guessing that finishing this book will be an exercise in futility. generation x, it seems, has little to offer me. maybe i'll just return it and hit up "norwegian wood" instead. i'm a sucker for beatles references.
story of jack the girl's saturday night: got wasted. lay on mattresses and drank drinks the color of california ocean on a good day watched porn with friends was connor sandwhiched popped to the hives smashed other people's flower pots. jack, you fucking wino! put down the bottle. all the way down. now wipe that salt off your mouth and quit fucking around. oh, and buy more m-a-c nail polish in shirelle red, your nails are straight bullshit.

Douglas copland in hit and miss for me, i loved microserfs an liked generation x but sometimes he's not worth the effort. The new chuck palanuick book 'Rant' is out really soon and my anticiaption is high. i love his books but i hate hardbacks, i wish they'd release the paperback sooner. hardbacks equal more cash true but they are so bookcase unfriendly. the price isn't an objection just the volume, i bet i buckle never-the-less.

nobody ever really rea much chuck when i was reading it. i discovered him quite late and long after i had seen fight club. This meant there was a raft of novels for me to read in convenient paperback form. As a media technician i spend a lot of hours i a dark room running the tech side of events and it gave me a lot of time to catch up on what i'd missed. I quick became engrossed. i just wish there was another batch of his novels for me to read and a job that gives me the time to read them.
