Monday blahs.
Weekend was great, though exhausting, and over WAY too quickly.
Friday:
Went home and baked a cake. A Kraken Rum Cake, to be exact. Holy drunken squids, it was delicious.
Saturday:
To the shop to celebrate National Maritime Day. We dressed up like 18th century sailors, drank a lot of tea, ate the Rum Cake (yay), watched Captain Blood and Master and Commander, enjoyed scurvy fighting fruits....sounds odd, doesn't it.....had a display of nautical items, and so on. Then we ran home, got changed, and went to RRRRROOOOOLLLLLERR DDUUURRRBYYY. Black and Bluegrass double header. Our friend and fellow SG member Shaken and Stirred (luckeyisis here) is a team member. Her first bout, and did great. Awesome. Great 1st bout between the B teams, and then a blow out of the A team and a pickup team called Quad State Rollergirls. Then Home, because....
Sunday was HELL CITY!
VERY fun. Our first tattoo convention, and a little overwhelming at first (partly because we got lost in the damn Columbus Convention Center...place is frakkin huge) but we got talking to some people and it was great. Terrific artists, amazing work in evidence on EVERYBODY, and just an all around good time.
Highlights:
Met Calamity Suicide who was doing work there...love her nautical stuff and am going to try to commission a piece for next year.
Calamity's tattoo studio page
Met an artist named Teejay who i am DEFINITELY getting a mermaid from.
Teejay's studio
The wife got a new tattoo on her neck. It's a raven on a curly branch....very cool.
Met a lot of SG's at the SG booth...they were all really nice, and patient with my continual returns to their table with MORE QUESTIONS.
Got the new SG DVD too, which I haven't watched yet. Hell, I'm SUPPOSED to be working!
Lastly, we met a friend for dinner at the Surly Girl Saloon (REALLY good food, 24 beers on tap, including one of my favs Dead Guy Ale, and pinups all over the wall) and then finished it with Jeni's ice cream
If you are dying, and make a wish asks what you want, ask for Jeni's ice cream. It's that good. I had a small double- pistachio honey and goat cheese and cherrie. Best ice cream ever. Then we went home and crashed! Whew!
Hope to get all my shit done for the week, before I head out again on Friday to Vincennes Indiana for a big ass reenactment. Sweet.

Thanks! They are .. most of the time. Though in fairness, they're not exactly mine -- they're adopted, or step-children, or whatever. So I don't have that unconditional love thing going on just yet. They're handfuls. Lol.
