Well.
As I've been home most of the week on "vacation", I haven't gotten to SG much. As we all know, "vacation" is that time when you bare so busy you can't even turn around.
So this is just a quick update before we're off again.
Regan had to take a vacation sometime in this couple of weeks, as her bosses made it clear one of her 2 weeks was to be during the 3 months they are in Italy, and they get back in like 2 weeks. So here we are. And I, if Regan is taking time, I do too!!
Unfortunately for the relaxation factor, we have filled it with home renovation!!
Yay!!!
I'll have before an after pics later on. But we are in the proces of turning our useless living room into our bedroom- new paint on walls and trim, new front door, new floor in the room, and some other minor cosmetic stuff having to do with the large ugly rock pile encouragingly called a hearth sitting on the floor. I have aso had to go into work two days, and then run errands, and those two episodes of a couple of hurs turned into long nightmarish frantic attepts to get everything done.
I also played a gig at the Rover II on wednesday. It went very well, thank you. I will do that the 4th wednesday of every month.
Last night, in the midst of ungodly storms, we drove the hour back into Louisville to see regan's sister's band play.
Of course, we also has to have an ugly hurtful fight.
Echhtch.
It's ok now though.
Here's the plug-
You have got to see this girl's band. They are called The Young Republic, out of Boston. There are 9 of them, al Berklee students, and they do (their words) Orchestral Indie Folk Rock.
It's really good.
I think they're gonna get some serious attention in the net few years- they are al only 20 or so, but this is their 2nd tour, they've been on World Cafe on the radio, and they sound great.
Do a google search- they have a MySpace with their tour dates on it.
Now, we are getting ready to go to Vincennes Indiana all weekend for one of our annual big events. Hope it's fun!!
I miss all you guys, but I hope to cach up in the next few days.
Have a great weekend, and a happy Memorial Day!
Everyone in Canada and the UK- just have a great weekend.
