Finally, it is sunny and warm today. In fact, it is a completely gorgeous day.
It has really affected my mood today, in a positive manner, despite tax season, client issues, lingering sickness in the family, and the inevitable not quite enough cash to take care of all the bills at one fell swoop for the month.
I am actually looking forward to spending the day in the office today. I am wearing jeans. Yea! Supposed to be 75 today, and I might just crack the window a little. Hell, I may even go for a walk around lunchtime today. I know, I know, gettin crazy.
In other news, Regan and I celebrated 12 years yesterday. Well, we didn't really celebrate, cuz we both kinda forgot.
But we have been together for 12 frikkin years. Long time.
And to think I almost blew it- we had a "date" for Thursday March 24th, 1994, and I was sick with the flu. Well, I was supposed to call and we'd maybe go out. I was a total slacker bastard back then. I didn't call (cuz I waS REALLY SICK), and she called. We had a long conversation where she almost insisted on bringing me soup. I think she thought I was blowing her off and using sickness as an excuse.
So the next Tuesday, the 29th, she had a date with some little puke, who called her and cancelled at the last minute. They were gonna see a movie at the Vogue Theatre (really cool one screen art house, since closed) with a group of folks at 9:30. Regan called me at 9:00 and said, basically, if I ever want a shot with her I would show up for that movie. I was there at 9:15. After the movie, we all hung out at Denny's til 4:00am, then she and I walked around Old Louisville talking til 7:00. I crashed on her couch, and basically never went home.
And now here we are, with a house, married, animals out the wazoo, our own little family. It's pretty cool.

I got Regan The David Sedaris Collection on CD for her birthday. It's 14 hours of him reading his short stories on 14 discs, and his sister Amy, of Strangers With Candy fame, also does some voices.
He's a freakin riot. Mostly autobiographical, his stories of his fucked childhood and his family are priceless. We listened to some off his book Naked this morning on the way into town. Hi- LAR- i- ous.
Super, super funny. You must read. GO. NOW.
