Ok, time for a real update since I've been trying to post one for days but the words haven't been coming out right or I keep getting interrupted. Right now, I'm down at my parents' house in Michigan for a little while (I haven't decided when I'm coming back...probably soon). I figured I'd get out of town to escape any G20 chaos. I'm actually really glad I left on the 23rd given what has been happening up there. To be honest I kind of wanted to be wrong about what to expect. Anyways I hope all of my Toronto peoples are staying safe.
Lately, I've been trying to do more photography. As anyone who has heard me talk about my photography will tell you I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it. I love how much I enjoy it but I still think I suck. Maybe I'm just being humble? Yeah that much be it. Though I know I still light up when one of you guys makes a positive comment on my work. Actually I am kind of excited right now as I decided to add a new Canon 5D Mark II to my gear line up. (Yes I don't know how I'm going to pay that one off but I have lusting after it for two years so give me a break.) I can't wait for an excuse to put it through it's paces. I've kind of figured out that I enjoy taking photos out in the world rather then the studio environment (not that there is anything wrong with the studio environment.) Toronto has been amazing for me in the photography inspiration department. (Maybe I should have stuck around and gotten some G20 action/rioting shots? Naaah) Though one of the nice things of being home is I can order some prints of my work. I'm currently getting prints of the following made up (my apartment needs things on its walls).
For you photo people who do you use for prints? Do you make them at home or use a photo printer lab? I'm currently using White House Custom Colour and really like that they print using a light based photo process.
Other then that life has been pretty uneventful. I finished my summer class on the 23rd. Don't know if I blew the final or not but I hope the teacher is nice about grading them. Which he probably will since he didn't seem like an asshole. My lasik surgery is on for sure though got moved to the 21st of July. So here's fingers crossed that it goes well. I'd really like to not have to wear contacts or have such a strong astigmatism. (For those that don't know my vision really really sucks.) But I've rambled enough time for me to get some sleep.
