Allrighty in our bloggy Monday we finally have a real update.
it was an odd weekend. A bit of bad and a whole lot of good.
The main event was of course the SG Canada East camping trip. Which I almost didn't make it to. The transmission on my car went out about 30 minutes into the trip. Which was shitty since I did my usual pre-trip check over and drive around the day before. After a tow and a quick car rental I was back on my way.
The camping trip was almost ruined due to the dark cloud of car trouble hanging over my head but of course the SG Canada East group members in all their awesomeness came to the rescue! I ended up having a blast despite car issues and a few rain showers. I really enjoyed sitting around a camp fire with some of my favourite people just relaxing. Sadly I didn't take any pictures but I'm sure there will be some floating around soon.
Of course when I came back home I was really expecting to have to make an unpleasant phone call to my Dad to ask for some cash for fixing my car, which as it turns out really wasn't unpleasant at all. I got the "eah shit happens, what can you do about it" attitude from him. So that was nice. Go Dad. In that same vein, once my car is fixed I may have to drive down to their house once more to house and pet sit while my mother is on a camping trip of her own and my Dad is on a business trip. Though I really won't call that a bad thing. My wonderful kitty is down there and I've actually started to enjoy the solo drive through the country down there.
Right now I'm just trying to get all of the summer fun I can in before I have to head back to university, which I know is going to be tough, but rewarding. I have real science-ie classes this year! Plus I'm going to get to link up with the U of T mountain biking team which seem like cool people judging by that social ride that I went on with them at the beginning of the summer.
Well time to go out into the real world for a while and get dinner and some aloe gel (those sunburns really smart.) I hope all of you are enjoying your summers, too.
