Man it's strange being back at my parents house here in the States. I mean I haven't been in Toronto that long but it really has started to feel like "home". I blame you SG, exposing me to all kinds of cool people to hangout with and to show me awesome sights. Really it has been awesome making so many cool friends in such a short time.
Speaking of SG people, it was nice to meet another whole new bunch of you cool people at the gala fundraiser. I'm sorry if I didn't introduce myself to everyone. It was nice to meet you radiofrank and Leah. Many thanks to radiofrank and AandP for putting that on and for working so hard on the Gala plans. I'm very excited to finally be able to make it to one after hearing about year after year.
Though SG fun aside, that's not to say I don't like being home. It's been great to see my kitty (who I missed dearly) and my Dad. Not to mention a fridge of food and a laundry machine that doesn't use quarters. Though I do miss my own bed (I'm been sleeping on a blow up mattress). I also was able to get my taxes done. Yay for the government giving me money even if it's just a small amount and technically really my money.
Out of pure randomness I watched Garden State tonight. Beside the oddness of watching a movie about basically returning home, it was interesting to remember how much my life has changed since I first saw that movie. I mean those were some screwed up times for me. Especally since I was still in that "gotta find a girlfriend" stage of my life and was going after the totally wrong kind of girls. Though at least the music to that movie is pretty good. Live and learn I guess. As someone told me "maturity is admitting that you've done stupid things in the past, being an adult is admitting that you are probably going to still do some stupid things in the future."
Well I'm going to get some sleep, I have to get up early tomorrow as it is my Dad's 55th birthday, and we're going to have a fun filled day. I guess I will see a lot of you in a few days when I make it back to Toronto.
