Piss. It seems either I've been shelved because I've been a member for so long, or all my friends have come and gone in their typical blaze of glory in the basic American attention span that can be measured in nanoseconds. But then again, I've never been one to shy away from my commitments. Lets run through the list- I had a Nintendo, from a year before they put out the Super NIntendo, and ran with that all the way up to a 3rd generation N64. I had Windows 95 running on my computer as long as it was feasably possible- up through Windows XP. I still have a 30GB Zune, and am currently listening to Machine Head on it. And I've been a member of this site for 10 fucking years. My ten year anniversary was a few months ago, but, don't fault me on that, I was never really good with time. Shit has changed in 10 years- this site, the world, and oddly enough, me. Now, not in the matter of change where your younger self would kick your older self's ass for selling out- fuck no, far from it. A stable job, great relationship, a reliable car (younger self would be SO jealous), and a checking/savings account with more than $0.27 in it. Would I advise younger self on some shit? Yeah. Would I change any of it? No. I'd tell young me to spend more time with family and call more- being out at sea makes it hard to come home for emergencies or even funerals. Not being able to say goodbye really sucks. Would I change the tune of this jam? No, not like anybody but me is gonna read it anyway, lol. And why is that? Because I am now that creepy old dude staring at all the cute girls from a distance. Do I care? No. lol
Anyway, thanks to the site for putting up with me for the last decade, and congrats on your 11 years, may you have another 11, and hopefully I won't be too old and creepy as the new people come and go! And, maybe, just maybe, I'll try and put something up more often than once a year. Just a thought.
