it dawned on me today that something very dear to my heart came of my love of ther thriller album when i was young, vegetarianism. from the time i was little, once i figured out what meat was, it grossed me out, something that for most of my life i was able to look past. anyway, when i was little i remember being really bothered about eating animals and my mom brought up something about michael being a vegetarian. to this point in my young life, i had no idea that there was a possible way to live without eating meat and i figured if he didn't need to eat meat (and was the coolest human alive, to me anyway. remember i was 6 or 7, he was still black and thriller was still producing hits) why should i need to eat meat. of course at that young age, that meant i should only eat grilled cheese or mac and cheese, something my mom let slide for a couple of days before going back to making me eat the same as everyone else in the family. through the years i've toyed with being veggie here and there, lasting 2 years at the longest and sort of settling on eating chicken maybe once a week currently.
so i may not have cared for anything he has done musically in the past 25 years and even though i never seem to last long when i try a veggie lifestyle the fact that he intrduced the concept of not eating meat into my life makes him one of the most inportant influences for me ever. rather weird when i think about it and i really felt like i should type this out somewhere
