Today is turning out to be very odd, which really, is just the way I like it. After an ordeal over the last two weeks to secure an interview with James Marsters, the dude who played Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it finally went ahead tonight, at midnight exactly, and he was a very nice chap.
I slept in intentionally because I knew I was going to be up very late, its gone 2am already and I still havent even started transcribing the interview which needs to be in my editors email inbox by 8am, whod be a journalist ey? No matter, Im an animal of the night anyway, its dark so Im happy. What I wont be happy about is going to bed when the birds start singing
Right now Im just transferring the interview to my pc, its easier to transcribe that way. Ive been blessed with extraordinary luck with the whole thing today. At around 1pm I went to get a minidisk recording unit from the journalism supplies office. Firstly the lady said none of them were charged, she then changed her mind saying they would be ready by the time the place shut, so I was to come back at 4:30, which I did. Upon arriving back the very pleasant lady said they didnt have any phone to mini disk converters, which was a serious set back, but out of no where she found onemore luck again.
I go up to the magazine offices to wait on James call and realise the phone doesnt have the right jacks to be able to plug into the mini disk, after running around white with panic I find a phone in an abandoned room the other side of the building that has a phone in it that is perfect! More luck!
Its almost transferred to the pc now, time to crack open the Chivas Regal, 20 B&H and expect a long night7am is when I expect to be finished, just when the birds wake uphopefully some of that luck will still be left
