Good day and night to everyone, whether or not your region is pointed at the sun now!
If you've followed a bit, you'll know I'm a space enthusiast. This month has been special, as it is the 50th anniversary since humans first landed on the moon in 1969. Since my Gardevoir Phoebe loves the moon, I thought of drawing a tribute drawing to the Apollo 11 landing. This will give me a chance to practice drawing the moon and the night sky.
As for further drawings, I would love to work with what is called 木漏れ日 komorebi, meaning the sunlight that shines through trees. Some of my better and earliest childhood memories involve this special, beautiful lighting and it is very emotionally meaningful to me.
If you've seen anime films like 「となりのトトロ」"My Neighbor Totoro" or 「魔女の宅急便」"Kiki's Delivery Service," you might know about Hayao Miyazaki. Some of his art captures the streaming, scintillating sunlight through the trees on the grass. His work greatly inspires me.
As I always look to improve something with each drawing, I want to experiment with colors to try and find that magical sunshine.
I will continue with the story once my experimental drawings are done. I want to make a story scene where Phoebe and Gothitelle are in a forest on a sunny day with the sun shining on the ground through trees.
And of course, if I come up with something cool during the test drawings, I'll be sure to share.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and I look forward to seeing more great content from all of us!
Until next time
J
