Summary: Childhood to June 2019.
Sabrina is an Esper from Saffron City in the Kanto region. She had psychic powers as a child and early connections to Psychic Pokémon. When her powers became destructive, Sabrina was sent by her parents to the care of the Gym where other Espers took her in. In 1996, at ten years old, Sabrina began Pokémon Training and gained commission in the Gym shortly after. By 1998, she became Saffron Gym's youngest Gym Leader at 12. Sabrina's extraordinary powers made people fear her and many saw her as a hardline Leader.
In 2002 at age 16, Sabrina collided with Randi on the street while running errands. After making eye contact, they agreed to settle the awkward situation by having coffee. Sabrina admits she foresaw the collision but was surprised by the interaction. She really liked how Randi did not fear her and treated her like a normal person. She also took notice how Randi loved his Psychic Pokémon and their ability to empathize, helping her discover her own emotions.
After becoming friends, Sabrina and Randi went on tour together. They travelled around the world, eventually becoming lovers. In 2003, Sabrina and Randi competed together in Pokémon Doubles tournaments in the Denali League, in Randi's home region. The couple gained many fans.
This angered established League Trainers in Denali. With their political leverage, the jealous Trainers fomented terrible rumors about Sabrina and Randi. The couple faced increasing public harassment, and Sabrina's mental health declined. At a critical moment, Randi sent Sabrina on a plane back to Saffron City with a promise he would be following. She waited for him, but he never showed up or made contact. Not knowing Randi was doing this to protect her, she held grief for the relationship for some time before moving on.
Sabrina remained Gym Leader until 2008 when she resigned her commission to travel. She left her Alakazam in care of the Gym.
At some unspecified point in her travels, Sabrina met a Ralts that she named Celeste. She had an unusually powerful psychic resonance with the Pokémon and continued travelling the world searching for answers to the mystery of Celeste. The Pokémon evolved into a Kirlia and later a Gardevoir.
After a couple of years surveying ruins, Sabrina uncovered an ancient technique that she was able to comprehend, thanks to her advanced psychic acuity. Teaching the technique to Celeste seemed to help with the Gardevoir's mental condition, allowing her to channel her power outside of her mind. Sabrina learned that the ancient technique drew on Celeste's life force, so she emphasized a resting period after each use; the logical conclusion that Sabrina feared was that overusing the technique could lead to death.
In spring of 2012, Sabrina was returning to Saffron City. On the outskirts of the city, Sabrina was ambushed by members of a reorganizing Team Rocket. The criminal group had learned of Celeste and her power and wanted to claim the power for their nefarious ambitions. Sabrina soundly defeated all of the gang members. The remaining Administrator put up a grueling battle, but Celeste activated her technique to thwart her capture.
The Rocket Administrator, before fleeing, threw an incendiary device that started a huge fire. A nearby fuel tank exploded, trapping Sabrina under rubble. Sabrina took a head injury that greatly diminished her psychokinetic powers; she stuggled with all her might but was trapped under the rubble. Nearby was the power plant that energized all of Saffron City, and the conflagration was encroaching on an enormous adjacent natural gas facility. The fire was moments away from causing a huge explosion that would likely kill everyone in the area, including trapped Sabrina. Celeste, exhausted from the Administrator's difficult resistance and with the last of her strength, began to summon the ancient technique again. Sabrina instantly knew what this meant and screamed.
A brilliant light pulsed through the district, generating a powerful airburst that extinguished all the flames.
Celeste immediately fell.
The blast had cleared the rubble and Sabrina rushed to hold Celeste in her final moments.
Disheartened by her loss, Sabrina left Kanto behind to start a new life in Unova. Her first encounter was a Gothita that she took special care of. This Pokémon would grow to become Sabrina's current partner Gothitelle.
Sabrina got a foot in the door in the show business at Pokéstar Studios and driven by her grief for Celeste, went on to be a successful actress. With her new fortune, Sabrina settled in a small upscale condo in Castelia City. She continued to work as a consultant for the care of Psychic Pokémon and also performed freelance acting gigs.
Sabrina met Randi again at the Central Plaza in Downtown Castelia. Randi had a Kirlia named Phoebe that pulled him toward her. Again, Sabrina foretold this meeting but was still taken aback by the encounter. Her abandonment by Randi resurfaced in her mind. Sabrina immediately probed Randi's mind upon making eye contact with him. With Phoebe's help, Randi was able to communicate telepathically with Sabrina. The two had an intense exchange, substantially catching up their lost years. Sabrina directed Randi to a nearby coffee shop where they continued to catch up.
Upon inviting Randi to her condo, Sabrina picked Phoebe up and stared into her intensely. She felt a familiar psychic energy that she had not felt since her time with Celeste. Sabrina broke down crying and told her story. Since Phoebe reminded her so much of Celeste, Sabrina agreed to relocate to Anchorage to give Phoebe Master Training in the ancient technique.
With repeated contact with Phoebe, the Kirlia began to attach to Sabrina, seeing her as a mother figure.
In an Anchorage hotel room, while closing on a new property, Sabrina called Randi to the room. They had a heated argument about what happened in 2003. Randi felt terrible and admitted he made a youthful mistake, having witnessed Sabrina's suffering under public harassment. He sent her away because he thought he had no choice. He promised to make it up somehow. The two reconciled and hugged, triggering Phoebe's evolution into Gardevoir.
On May 19, Sabrina learns that Phoebe hatched in the wild within a day of Celeste's death in 2012. She couldn't help but imply a spiritual connection of the events which would explain her strange psychic familiarity with Phoebe, but Randi shot down her supposition as pseudoscientific. After a minor quarrel, Randi admitted that the idea sounded romantic.
In June, Sabrina's best friend and former partner in the show business Paige came to visit Anchorage for the summer. Since they last met, Paige acquired a Shiny Ralts named Paula. Paige started flirting with Randi. Sabrina felt that Randi should be able to date whom he wants, but given their history together, she couldn't help but feel slightly miffed by the situation. Phoebe also seems to be spending lots of time with Gothitelle. Sabrina is happy that her Pokémon seems to have made good friends with the Gardevoir in which she is heavily invested.

Thanks for reading! I felt that Sabrina was a very underappreciated Pokémon canon character with lots of unused potential, so I constructed headcanon for this story. That's the beauty of fanfics. And yeah, I kind of had a crush on her as a kid when the original Pokémon games and media came out.
More to come soon!
