Many of you know, I am a member of the only Lodge, that would have ME, as a member, "The global society, of the disabled" I got my badge, by being born to a 39 yr. mother, a month early, in 1957 - my ticket to cerebral palsy. (i was lucky. It could've been much worse) There is really nothing meritorious about a disability. They don't make us noble. (I became a great guy, all on my own!!) I have been complimented, & even received scholastic, & professional awards, I didn't think, were really deserved, just because of my disability. It's a polite way for people to tell me - "If I was as fucked up as you, I would've packed up the tent, a long time ago!!!!!!" To which, I reply "GEE, THANKS!!!!! - How come, there's no money, with this award?" DISABILITIES 101 : WE HATE THAT!!!!!!!!! We don't want things, we don't deserve. We're not different beings than you. We don't dream a world of braces, & wheelchairs, & white canes. Our dreams are the same as yours! We only want an even shot, along with everybody else..
The occasion, for these musings, is the arrival of a new hopeful - @WHEELSANDPEARLS, whose set "Hot wheels" is in MR. She has Ehlers Danilos Syndrome, as does, beautiful SG,@STORMYENT. The second thing to learn about disabilities is, each one, & the persons that have them are unique. My disability has led to a gradual loss of ability, & increase of pain, over time. But, I know, what I have to work today, is pretty much, what I will have tomorrow. But people who have EDS, never know, from day to day, or moment, what they will be facing. They can go, from a stroll in the woods today, to not being able to move AT ALL, tomorrow. It is a cruel, and fickle monster, of a disability!!!!!!!!!
Every disability has other effects, which may not be apparent. In my case, I am legally blind in one eye. And, even the half of my body, which appears not to be paralyzed, is still fucked up, a little bit, compared to normal people. Some of us, deal with features of disability, which make us look abnormal. I have always walked with a noticeable limp. The paralysis has contracted the muscles in my left arm, so that, my arm usually hangs across my chest, and spasticity has turned my hand into a mostly useless claw. I get noticed, & not in a good way. People avert their eyes, when they see me, or stare, in disbelief. Children ask me, "What happened to your hand?" - which I'm happy to talk about. It sure beats the insults, & physical attacks, I've received from others! Some of us look strange. If it bothers you, it bothers the fuck out of us. And, we will NEVER get used to it, any more than you!!
Back to Wheels. When i started on her set, I thought she would bring some of those little Mattel cars i had, in childhood. I didn't realize, she was in a wheelchair. I thought, the back wheels, were the arms of an office chair!. It wasn't until she got on her knees, leaned on the chair, & stuck her glorious ass in the air that I realized, it was a wheeled conveyance. LET'S face it - by any standard, this is a BEAUTIFUL woman!!!! Her lithe, toned body, her flawless skin, her classic sense of style, the bad ass attitude, that fairly SHOOTS out of those beautiful eyes, combine to make her, a SPECTACULAR BABE. SHE DON'T NEED NO SYMPATHY VOTE!
I imagine there are other such ladies, people will mention, in the comments. Maybe YOU have a disability. I personally know 3 : Our quadriplegic Hopeful, & den mother of the SG gimp troop,@CRIPPLETHREAT, the gamine SG @BIRDI, &, as I mentioned before, the Canadian Princess, @STORMYENT. They all look GOOD on the outside, despite what goes inside. (I think, @CRIPPLETHREAT has a breathing tube. Think of it as a sex toy. Knowing her, I'm sure, she uses it, that way!) I would put my crippled cuties, up against anybody, anywhere!!!!!!!!!!
