Not updating my blog very often lately. I suppose I should fix that.
Things are looking up. Check this shit out:
1) I got a job. Well, I got an old job back. It's with a super tiny little ISP here in Reno doing tech support. I worked there a few years ago, and had to leave because I got a higher paying job. I eventually quit the higher paying job, and now I'm back. It's a great place to work. I'm the 13th person on the payroll. I know the CEO of the company likes double cheeseburgers from Burger King because I picked them up for him on Thursday. It's that kind of environment. Not to mention, my office is in the middle of downtown Reno. It's less than 5 minutes, walking, away from two of my favorite delis, my favorite coffee place, the best Italian food in town, the river, and my hair salon. It's a 5 minute drive. I leave for work 5 minutes before I clock in. It's awesome.
2) I finally got AT&T to refund me a bunch of money they owe me. Long story short they overcharged me by $30 per month for 3 years. I spent dozens of hours on the phone with tech support over the years trying to get it fixed, and finally decided to e-mail the CEO of AT&T. That led to a call from executive escalations, and now I'm waiting 7-10 days for a $750 credit back to my bank account. Fucking A.
3) PAX East is in March, and I'm volunteering as part of the staff. I'm so excited. I live for PAX, and now I get to go twice a year. Once in March, once in September. Wil Wheaton is delivering the keynote, there's a Microsoft Surface D&D demo, and I'm hoping for some big games to be on the expo floor, especially Star Wars: The Old Republic. I'm also flying Virgin America, which I'm really excited about. Doom on a computer built into my leather seat in the sky with free wi-fi and seat-to-seat messaging? Yeah, okay. I'll take that.
4) I'm writing game reviews for www.gameandplayer.net. It's not paid or anything, but I really enjoy it and it's giving me some kind of experience and credibility in the industry. Plus I get free copies of video games. Pretty sweet.
5) I'm getting into traditional archery. I had a nice recurve bow but unfortunately it snapped in two when I went shooting with it a month or so ago, so now I'm looking for a replacement. With this AT&T money and my new job, plus my tax return, I'm going to be purchasing a new recurve in the next month or so. I'm excited. I have some sexy arrows, a quiver, an armguard, and a finger glove, too. It's some awesome, nerdy shit.
6) I'm also getting into ping pong, along with my friend Tim. We're getting pretty damn good. There's a place in Reno where you can play by the hour, and we're playing at least every other day right now. It's a lot of fun.
7) Our screenplay, Deerfield Road, is 100% done. Finished. No more edits. In fact, it's being entered into contests. I expect it to do well. It's really, honestly good. I'm hoping it leads somewhere, because frankly my degree is pretty useless.
So, yeah. Long blog I guess, but I don't update very often. Things are looking up and I'm pretty happy lately. If I could find a girl that would be great, but honestly it's not that high on my list of priorities. I dated for a while, and to be honest, it's exhausting. Mentally, emotionally, and physically, it's just draining. Now I'm kind of kicking back and casually keeping my eye out for someone interesting, and I'm okay with that.

I wish I could go to PAX. And Virgin America is the besssssssssssssst. I went to SFwith Dr_Stasis on VA, and we had no clue how awesome it was going to be. We discovered the Doom by happenstance, and promptly mourned that our flight was only an hour.
