Had an amazing week.
Went down to California to visit my family for New Year's and my grandfather's memorial service. The service was nice. My family is Methodist (I am not) and apparently their services are especially positive. They call them "celebrations of life." They sing songs, share memories, and at the reception we had hundreds of pictures of my grandfather and all the family, including myself, for people to look at and share. I said something very brief at the service, and I felt like I paid my respects with that. Aside from the service it was nice to spend some quality time with my family. I've grown much closer to a few of them in the last year or so, and I honestly don't know what I'd do without them.
I also found out that my cousin, whom I'm rather close to, fucking hates her brother (another cousin). This pleases me to no end, because he's kind of a pompous dick. I love it.
After that I went to San Francisco to visit friends. We had an AMAZING day. Here was my schedule:
Wake up at grandma's at 7:00. Out the door by 8:15.
Cruse into San Francisco at 10:00. Park at my friends' house at 10:13. I was supposed to be there at 10:15.
Drive down to Pacifica for a few hours of archery. Amazingly fun, gorgeous weather.
12:00: Geocaching! Got some AMAZING pictures of the bay from where the nearest geocache was.
Absolutely delicious burger at Jenny Burgers in San Francisco. So good. Amazing milkshake, too.
Hop over to Golden Gate Park for some disc golf and more geocaching along the way.
Go down to the old Sutro Bath Houses (old ones, burned down in the early 1900s) for more geocaching and amazing views of the bay.
Avatar at 5:00. Without going into too much detail, it was a good movie.
Dinner at an awesome asian noodle place. I got fried chicken on top of fried rice, and it was fucking awesome.
Walk around downtown San Francisco, bullshitting with friends.
Around 10:00, come back to friends' house.
Play Super Mario Bros. Wii for a few hours.
Crash on their comfy couch.
Will update with pictures from my phone as soon as I unpack my connector cable, but here's a shot from my friend of us at the noodle place:
