Ok....two things.
First.....bought the Breeders new CD. I enjoyed it. Well paced....these people are my age and have come to appreciate music that isn't always full boar on the go. They come outta their shell on occassion to rock it....but this CD says...enjoy....listen.....have a glass of wine. Oh and every once in a while....cut loose. This is what you have to do when you are 40 and over...you can go out and have fun....you just don't recover like you used to.
Next bought Control....the movie about Ian Curtis of Joy Division. Amazingly, I did not have to go pay shipping fees for it etc.....it was in general release and there were like 10 copies at my local Best Buy the date of its release. WHAT!!!! Alright...so anyway....I think the movie does a great job painting a pciture of the formation of the band, Ian's early personal life, and getting us through to thier first successes with the release of Unknown Pleasures. Thought it cool that the they allowed the actor, Sam Riley, to sing the songs when they cut to concert footage etc. The man did a great job with Ian's clumsy dancing and dark singing styles. Everyone always talks of Walk the Line as a great film/documentary on an artists life. This one, though made with lesser known actors and I am sure with a much smaller budget, was every bit as good as the larger hollywood type productions. Really a must see for fans of the band.
Also, I would love to see another perspective on this as this was based on a book by Deborah Curtis and you really have great insight as to what is going on within her household.....but the love triangle that appears to have contributed to Ian's suicide is a little flat. You don't get a perspective from the Annik Honore side of things. Anyway....neat film.

the frizzy crazy hair is a fun look, the only downside was trying to wash it and comb it down back to normal!
have a fabulous weekend!
