wow...it's been a few days since i last posted.
i am back at my uncle's house in Grenoble, after a couple of days in Venice.
funny thing about Venice is that all the buildings are numbered by the time of being built, as opposed to being in sequence like they are in the US (and I can assume most everywhere else).
because of this, it took me about 4 hours of wandering to find my hotel. i finally stopped and asked someone where my hotel was, and they didn't know either. then, they directed me to a "town elder" because she should know.
i thought that was funny. i bought her some wine as thanks, and she invited me to stay and have a drink together. i spent about 2 hours with her -- speaking very broken italian.
i told her that i enjoyed her company, but i had to leave to get some rest and take a shower.

I bet that was cool being able to see the people who really do go every night. Its so true tho, about the american Idol thing. I even saw this one fat lady choose an opera track....she was actually really good. It made me wonder if she was really a singer.....most likely. When I went last time, there were a few people who were in a band out here that sang. You could tell they were professionals.
