A general update on all things Jerry-ish in nature...
Spring cleaning is in full effect around the apartment. HathOriginal bought a new vacuum cleaner today and is going nuts with it while attacking various small projects that cross her path. At some point I hope she stops; we still have an episode of Battlestar and some Top Chef on the DVR to watch tonight.
Part of the reason for the spring cleaning session is due to an upcoming visit from the lovely Siamkittie. She will be here and getting silly with Jenny and Kindle in a week or so, I will be handling the cooking end of things (turkey chilli and a nice pork roast as per Kindle's request). I need to make sure that I get up to speak to our landlord soon, there are a few repairs his guys need to finish this week around the house. We also need to ask if they can put carpets in the apartments above ours; all we can hear is the neighbors above walking around on the hardwood floors, and with the odd sleep hours I keep, and the early bedtime Jenny has, it can be very disruptive.
I picked up the new Portishead CD, I have only listened to it a time or so, but I'm digging it so far.
I'm still trying to change the program I work at, it's just moving a bit slowly. After doing my budget and realizing I spend over $400 a month on gas money, it is more of a priority now as gas prices seem to just keep geting higher. That $400 would be a nice sum to put away every month towards a mortgage in the future.
May is looking like a busy month. Truth be told it is going to be a busy summer, with a few weddings and various birthday parties to attend and cook for. At some point we all have to plan our annual summer cookout and party, and this year we are hoping Jenny's mom can make it from South Dakota. Our summer party is a hoot; lots of friends and a ton of food cooked by yours truly in a manic sleep-deprived state while working in a kitchen that has gotten up to 130 degrees on a summer day before. Good times.
That's about it for now, oh, a hypothetical question that has been bounced around the house for a week or so: What type of wedding ceremony do you think would go over better? A Pirate wedding or a Zombie wedding? All guests would be expected to attend in costume (no matter how boring or unadventuresome they are), and the man officiating the event is a personal friend with some acting skill who can do whatever is necessary for an entertaining ceremony and vows? Just curious.
What is up with all of you?
