"I have been reading the threads in this group for quite some time. I have come to view our little group as a haven, like a little coffee shop with big comfy chairs. A place that only we know about. A small gathering of women.
Strong, quiet, beautiful, outspoken, troubled, flawed.
Saints, sluts, soccer moms, dykes, tomboys, and vamps.
We came here. To hold hands across great distances and share in a common truth. That we are here for each other. Through difficult relationships, impossible decisions, and outcries of injustice, we come together to say a great big "Fuck You" to anyone who would stand in our way.
We are sisters.
I have seen us hurt each other, and stage petty fights. This hurts me to the core. We cannot stand against the tides while we tear each other to shreds.
Merely because we were taught to hate each other from the cradle.
Maybe I wrote this to make you smile. Perhaps I did it to slap you in the face. But the one thing I want you to do is look around this world we have created. And tell each woman in this room that you will treat her like the Goddess she was molded from.
I ask you to always remember that each woman here has a story. And it aint yours. You've never been there, you can't. Whatever shaped her opinions and views did so for a reason. She did not pull it out of her ass. That ideal that she holds so dear? The one you say is bullshit? She thought long and hard about it. Give her the curtesy of respecting her view.
I also ask you to stand up for your sisters. When the boyfriends and partners leave us, these ladies are the ones who stay. When you get fired for being a girl, and you plant your high heel directly in a pile of dogshit, these faces will be the ones to clean you off and storm your boss's office. How about you return the favor?
Keep your damn mouth shut. There are people here who tell you shit they would never tell another soul. They do this because we have told them that this was a safe place to do it. And, believe it or not, most women don't have that little luxury. So respect your fellow gals (and yourself) by not telling anyone outside this group what goes on here. We women are on our fucking own. Develop some pack mentality or be dragged under by our wrath.
I ask you to sign this below. by doing this, you are looking every woman here in the eye and saying, "I will not hurt you. You're my kin."
