Nothing particularly interesting going on... just been logging hours on the computer selling CDs and records on ebay...
well... us burlesque dudes gotta do something during the day...
Later tonight I'll hit the West Village on my bicycle and do some record shopping. I love riding my bike over the Williamsburg Bridge. I'm mostly collecting old jazz and blues records... and I know where to go so that I can trade punk/metal stuff for jazz/blues... I need to pump up my early 50's repertoire as I'm DJing now and thats the direction...
Sunday I'm going costume shopping... for the next Ixion Burlesque shows, I want to look kinda like Amadeus, - clothes in the style of the 1700's, white wig, etc etc... snuff box...
I'll get to wear white facial makeup and lipstick too!!

In this photo Ruby Valentine is giving attention to a picture of Abraham Lincoln. The significance lies in the fact that the original version of this show, from 1860, carried politcal statements and jokes of its day - including huge confederate flags, and dialog between Lincoln and Jefferson Davis... our version of the show is not political... except for the contorted $ and this lone reference...
In the same show, Honey Birdette plays a drunken bag-lady version of the goddess Taygete, the Queen of the Spartans....
Although ripe with historical revisitations, my shows do, in fact, present a thrill a minute....
Here you can see Lincoln more clearly...

I'm not really depressed anymore...
