Also, as a writer who has just discovered Dune, I am in awe of this from Frank Herbert:
Litany Against Fear
I must not fear
Fear is the mind-killer
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration
I will face my fear
I will permit it to pass over me and through me
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path
When the fear has gone there will be nothing
Only I will remain.
I mean, I was just mindblown the first time I read that. It’s incredible how perfectly-constructed that is, and how deep. Amazing.

I found Dune to be an interesting read. The first couple of books were good, but 3 and 4 were a monumentally boring struggle for me to get through. Five really picked up in the back half and the sixth book was phenomenally good. I think you will ultimately enjoy the journey. I still remember the Litany against Fear almost entirely by heart. And find an episode of Earthworm Jim with Peter the Puppy in it on YouTube and you'll understand what I'm referring to. lol.
