Hey SG Land. This is an update following my last two posts. The photo above is from the waterfront here, on my way home from securing a new role with my housing association. It’s a big graffiti art project that runs all the way along the riverside.

Unfortunately, I was right before, about how much it’s affected me to have had bipolar disorder for so

@lanaisonfire I’ll try and get some more graffiti art photos for you when I go out. They’ve done an amazing project. I’m glad you like it. 🖤 Xx

I just want to write another post to give SG Land and all models and members the recognition for being an essential, important, artistic, creative, BEAUTIFUL part of my life for so long.

The dedication, artistry, openness, acceptance, colour and vibrancy of everyone here has created, as I said before, a unique place on the entire internet. I hope my posts and comments stay up...

I have news that contradicts what I thought was possible. I joined an app called Bottled just over a week ago. You throw messages into the ocean and they travel to another app user somewhere in the world, who decides if they want to respond. My social isolation ended instantly. I have 26 conversations going in 11 different countries and it’s the deep, real, vibrant,

Thank you @fredhincanada you never fail to be wise, funny and encouraging - I love the quote from your lawyer friend too. I’ll keep my eyes open and I appreciate the reaction my posts have caused 🖤
fredhincanada:
Oh, I fail at being wise, funny, and entertaining. Far too often, in fact. Lol. I’m encouraged that you are encouraged!

Hey SG Land.

This is going to be a really personal post but I hope it will mean something to someone.

I’m back after 8 months, and dropping as many comments as I can to this beautiful community.

But as TLC asked in 1999, what does that mean to me? ‘Unpretty’ was a big radio hit when I was growing up and it had a

Thanks so much @spooky_queen I appreciate your thoughtful reply. It’s not the first time this week I’ve been encouraged not to give up on relationships. I hope your SG journey really builds your confidence 🩵 I’m glad you are here

Aww thanks ☺️

The Matrix was a glitch in the world at the breaking of the 21st century. It was the last vapours of Delphi, and when we inhaled we saw a vision. We followed the White Rabbit because that splinter in our minds was telling us that where we were was not real.

We wanted the red pill, but all the pills were blue. The system coded

What are the things that give you pure joy? Make you throw back you head and just laugh? For me it’s finding guitar work as phenomenal as in the video below I just discovered . This guy playing All Along The Watchtower has to be one of the best in the world 🌍 the feeling I get hearing this is beautiful.

It’s the same feeling...

You’re a good friend @fredhincanada
fredhincanada:
Likewise!

One thing I discovered while I was away was a local band called AFTERDRIVE. Their single is Stick Around and it’s excellent alternative rock. The lyrics are kinda sad but the riff and drum work are exceptional. I’m hoping I can stick around long enough to talk to you lovely people again.

“I’ve flown through a mirror

Almost disappearing

I glow faintly

You know, this is nobody’s life

I saw the days I lost

Hiding behind tomorrow’s cost

Time going back”

Time Goes Back by John Frusciante, from Shadows Collide With People, 2004. It’s one of the most significant albums of my life, and one of six Frusciante released in that year. I’ve been listening tonight.

@spooky_queen awesome. I know quite a lot of deftones but I don’t know that one - I’ll look it up tonight 🎧
iwasagain:
@spooky_queen ohh that’s from Needles and Pins isn’t it - I thought you’d given me a song title that had the lyrics in it 🤦‍♂️ I love that song, the riff is brutal and the drumming is so tight 👌 I can see why that line would mean a lot to you because of the sheer power with which it’s delivered. That whole album is awesome. It had been a while since I played Deftones.

It’s 1am, no one is up, and I don’t have social media. Just gonna send a few thoughts into the ether.

My grandad is dying. It’s near the end now. He’s a very diminished man. It’s only natural but it’s sad. I’m pretty close with him and have been writing about him the last few months.

Last week, after 23 years of mental health issues,

Thanks @rare  - that was the last of the cherry blossom this year. There was a cormorant fishing in the water too - it’s a beautiful park.

Also, as a writer who has just discovered Dune, I am in awe of this from Frank Herbert:

Litany Against Fear

I must not fear
Fear is the mind-killer
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration
I will face my fear
I will permit it to pass over me and through me
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye

I found Dune to be an interesting read.  The first couple of books were good, but 3 and 4 were a monumentally boring struggle for me to get through.  Five really picked up in the back half and the sixth book was phenomenally good.  I think you will ultimately enjoy the journey.  I still remember the Litany against Fear almost entirely by heart.  And find an episode of Earthworm Jim with Peter the Puppy in it on YouTube and you'll understand what I'm referring to. lol.

Thanks for the info and heads-up 👍
