Hello everyone! Finally doing what I promised to do - writing a blog! My newest tattoo raised so many questions from people all over the globe, so here we are :) If you haven't seen it already, here's my newest piece. The photo was taken right after the final session, so forgive it for being red and swollen.
Moose - If you follow me here from the beginning you should remember THIS BLOG I wrote back in April. There I told a story about a Moose family living in my hometown and becoming a pride and even a symbol of the town. I rarely go there nowadays and as years go by I will come there less and less often. But the town is precious for me, the memory of it warms my heart and thinking about an animal I would send to space in my tattoo I knew it had to be a Moose as a memory and symbol of a place I was born at. The town will also be with me and the memories will, too.
Why astronaut? - Remember how much Space used to inspire singers, writers, movie makers? Where did all of that go? Why are we more inspired by big butts or a pair of some nicely shaped boobs? Why most people are no longer excited about anything connected with space? Not many people know about Rosetta and Philae, New Horizons and Juno. If you know those names, I love you, human :) My Moose is an astronaut, because we forgot, that there's still so much to learn for us, so much to invest in space travel. We just have to see what lies beyond and stop creating better weapons and larger armies. I'm sure that if it was dogs who evolved and not monkeys, they would have already reached other galaxies working together as a pack and not trying to fight each other over who's got a better rocket and who's getting more money for it. Humans so need to get over their Monkey 1.0.2 stage.
Why NASA? - I actually adore what SpaceX are doing and their idea behind every project (Have you heard that Elon Musk has an idea of heating Mars, melting it's ice, bringing green plants and creating an atmosphere there?), but SpaceX letters would be too small for a tattoo. Roscosmos doesn't have a recognizable nice looking sign while NASA's worked perfectly :)
Sputnik - The first ever satellight sent to space by humany! Look how much we have already achieved since 1957! And since I have NASA, I wanted to have something from Russia because I'm proud of Russian space exploration achievements and cosmonauts, can't hide that either :)
The pose - You can tell - this is a picture taken right before the space journey. I wanted it to be exciting and I like to imagine that he's nervous (His name is Richard, btw) and very happy at the same time. He's about to enter a long space journey and he's not coming back without a discovery!
P.S. tattoo done by Masha - a very talented tattoo artist. You can find her profile here: vk.com/tattoo_panda
