So, I've loved dogs my whole life and now I finally have my own place to have one. I've been thinking about getting a Corgi - they're my favorite breed, by yesterday I found the shelter group on VK and saw an absolutely adorable puppy which was looking for home, so I thought maybe adopt one? But what if he has some serious genetic health problems? (not that I don't wanna help, I'm just scared that he might not make it to being a strong adult dog) What if he grows up to be a big dog and my place will be too small for him? Anyways, have any of you ever adopted a dog? Please, share your tips and experience. This is a responsible step to make and I wanna be ready in every sense possible.

You should always heavily consider all your options before getting a pet. But, I think rescuing and adopting is a wonderful idea. I could understand your concerns though. There is nothing wrong with getting a dog from a breeder, either. It's whatever you are more comfortable with. At the end of the day, you are still giving a dog a loving home that it didn't have before, and that is whats important. We have both a rescue and a dog from a breeder, and they are wonderfully happy and healthy pups :]
