Yesterday was such a good day. We finally started filling in the color on my tattoo, unfortunately I only had three hours to spare- I think I easily could have sat twice that but... slap on some plastic and off to the roller derby. Gore Gore Girls vs The Smoke City Betties. Should have been a great match, but with Bambi and Brim Stone as jammers, the poor Smoke City Betties didn't stand a chance and the Gore Gore Girls won 249 to 59 yikes!
We decided to skip the after party in favor of wings and karaoke.
This month has been so intense, first up was the Clothing Show, which went very well- it feels incredible to have people remember you and your work from other shows. I makes what I do feel that much more worth while. I've seen a lot of old friends this month too, seems like everyone was in town on the way to the Kinetik industrial music fest in Montreal. I really wanted to go but at least some of the bands did shows in Toronto including Left Spine Down and iVardensphere, both fantastic shows! It was so nice to see some good, more raw and analog sounding industrial for a change. I also checked out a fabulous but bizarre production of Frankenstein put on by CanStage a couple weeks ago. Very cool!
I had a bad leak in the ceiling of my apartment a couple weeks ago, this is the third unrelated leak since January. I apparently have an allergy to mold, so I've been feeling pretty lousy and my doctor has recommended that I move...so...ugh, packing! This next month should be interesting.
Hope everyone's having a glorious beginning of summer!
