I'm back in CA. I haven't posted because I've been doing massive overtime since I've been back.
The trip was overall pretty good. I left to CO as early as I could because I knew there was a storm coming and I was tring to beat it. I didn't I was about 2 hours late. I got stuck in Williams, about 14 miles before Flagstaff, AZ. It was snowing and collecting on my visor. It was dark and cold. So I found an Econolodge.
The people at the Econolodge were freaking awesome. They gave me a discount on the room and when I left they helped me load the bike in the truck. That's how I got out; my dad drove to Williams with a pickup truck.
This is a couple hours after I parked at the Econolodge:
Here's the next day:
The ride back was much nicer. I stayed with friends in Phoenix. It was awesome. The suck came on migrating from Riverside to Huntington Beach. The traffic sucked. I grew some balls and started lane splitting for the first time. I can tell you that crusiers are not meant for lane splitting. The side mirrors match just right to car side mirrors. Most people move out of your way and others try to move in your way. I believe I'm going to sell the crusier and get a more nimble bike.

You have something else going for you as well as your preperation, and more than one hour's practice: You do not project a radiant aura of dimwit.
