Before I move to LA I had never been in an accident in my life. In my time here I had a tire blow out doing 75MPH in the carpool lane of the 405, I've been rear-ended twice, someone hit my van when it was parked on the street, and yesterday my van was towed for being on the street for more than 72 hours. The last bit wasn't an accident but it just shows you the kind of vehicular luck I've been having. I reckon I'll be driving my van back to colorado, drop it off, and fly back here. It's just more of a burden out here since I don't have a proper storage place for it. I meant to use it as a portable workshop but that takes getting a nice invertor and redundant battery system and then having an open space I won't be hassled at. So back to colorado it goes.
Speaking of colorado, I'm buying a building from my parents. It's a 2 story victorian building with sort of apartments they rent. It's in a small mining town called Victor. There are under 1000 people in the town and it's an hour drive to Colorado Springs. This is where I grew up. The building was shit when I moved in. I spent 16 years renovating it with my folks. Now it's pretty darn nice. The deal is my parents are flat broke. They're basically screwed if this sale doesn't go through. We are having a lot of problems getting a lender and it's been a burden on everyone. Hell, the whole thing is a terrible mess. I would be ranting about this for a while if I get going here.
