I look around the internet on its various social networks and forums and im constantly faced with people who can seemingly put into words their feelings so much better than i can.
And if i wish to be a writer this is an issue.
I try to read better books, watch better films, listen to better music...
(By better i mean seemingly more high-brow items)
But much of what i like is instant/constant thrills.
In books i need to be constantly entertained, i dont want long descriptions of wind or a hill. I want a detailed knife fight or some fucking against a wall.
In films I want explosions, fighting, swearing, slapstick comedy, smart one-liners, i dont want slow burning plots where 90 mins later im expected to remember what someone said to give a clue to a big reveal. Its far more likely ill get bored half way through.
I think im some kind of entertainment magpie... Constantly on the lookout for the shiny new things.
Its terrible we have attached the act of theivery to a magpie, it has no concept of it, its merely taking care of its kids.
Anyway im digressing, which in a way is proof of my point.
Here are some things im currently enjoying.
