Mitch Hedberg last night was great. I kind of wish I hadn't bought his CD before the show, however. That's my advice to anyone going to see any popular comedian: If you buy their CD, wait a year or so before seeing them live. Totally serious here, folks. I felt like I paid $35 to see last night what I paid $14 for three weeks ago. In retrospect I probably should have known better. Well, you live, you learn.
The Urban Comedy Cafe is unequivocally the worst place to see a show in Seattle. We waited outside the club for the better part of an hour to get in. When we finally got up to the front door of the club we had to climb three flights of stairs just to get inside the actual performance space. The reason for the unforgivably long wait was the one guy who was taking tickets was also seating people! We stood there a further 7-10 minutes waiting for the guy to come back and give us our fucking tickets. After that, he pointed to the back of the room and said "You can sit anywhere back there." Thanks, you silly Hawiian shirted cocksucker!
Aside from that the layout of the club is shit. Concrete floors, rows of warped plastic folding chairs, a noisy bar in full view of the stage that interfered with the show and bathrooms that open up right to the audience.
On a separate note, I finally terminated my membership at that other altporn site I alluded to a while back (they don't deserve a plug even if I were allowed to give them one). They are, to the best of my knowledge, SG's closest competition and have a similar amount of class which was the reason I signed up (well, that and a good share of ex-SGs ). But after a couple of months I was sick to death of their shit. I have never seen a bunch of people more singularly dedicated to not having a good time. I mean, Christ, it's all about beautiful naked women and the atmosphere there was about as gloomy and dreadful as you can get. They take their shit waaaaay to seriously over there. Oh, and don't even mention SG. What an insufferably bitter lot. And even more amusing was the attitude I got when I inquired as to how I might cancel my membership (there's no "cancel" function, as such ). Suicide Girls is a term more fittingly applied to these women, because after a few weeks on the site I wished these bitches would commit suicide!
As Ever,

Thank you. It does mean something to me. Part of why I'm speaking up is because other people feel this way but won't speak.

I always play on many levels. I like the group and love the people. However, when I see several members that I love dearly leaving for reasons surrounding this, I can't in good conscience stay quiet. How many members lost can be acceptable? I think we've gone way over that limit.
