Apparently today is some kind of holiday. Truthfully I've never recognized this day. I hold it in the same high regard as Valentines Day.
Seems to me that St. Patty's Day is just another excuse for people to drink themselves to within an inch of death who never needed a provocation to drink in the first place. It also holds the dubious distinction of making anyone who's even remotely Irish proclaim just how fucking Irish they are. If you're only one-trillionth Irish and have never before gotten in touch with your Irish roots then stow it, meathead. I'm a mere fraction Scottish but you don't see me headbutting people as a form of greeting, do you? I rest my case.
Karaoke with the SGSeattle folks has been a welcome relief to the malaise that's been consistently following me around. They've all been very welcoming toward this socially inept git. Is it kindness or pity? Who can say. In either case I'm not very particular.
